h o u s e o f b l u e s g i g It was a kick performing at the American Society of Young Musicians Awards show at the House of Blues on June 3, 2004. Powerhouse drummer Bernie Galaun was a recipient of a scholarship the year prior and was invited to play this year. We assembled a kickin' band consisting of Bernie, Tal Wilkenfeld and me for this year. We did a spirited (as if it was sometimes not) rendition of my metrically entertaining tune "International Man of Mystery" for an all-star audience, including producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Tal did an amazing bass solo that really impressed the crowd. And Bernie's drum pyrotechnics were appreciated by all. The festivities were hosted by Melissa Rivers and "Charmed" star Dorian Gray.
